A place to belong. A space to grow.
Why we created
North Star
North Star began with a belief that children need more than a place to learn. They need to feel safe, understood and supported by people who see the whole person.
A child’s ability to engage can be affected by so much: whether their needs are understood, how they feel in a particular environment, what’s happening at home, or the experiences they’ve had with education so far. That’s why we take time to listen before deciding what support should look like.
We work with children and young people through relationships, creativity, practical experiences and learning that connects with their interests. We also walk alongside families who may be facing challenges of their own, whether that means talking through concerns, exploring support for their child, or finding a way through the SEND and EHCP processes.
We don’t expect families to arrive with all the answers. We start with where you are, work out what matters most and take the next step together.

Meet the people behind North Star
The people around a child matter. At North Star, we build relationships that help children and families feel comfortable being themselves and talking honestly about what they need.
Our team brings experience in education and support, but we know that families are the experts on their own lives. We listen, stay curious and work together to find approaches that fit each child and their circumstances.

I’m the founder of North Star Learning Hub. I spent 16 years as a primary teacher, and the part of my work I’ve always valued most is getting to know the child behind the learning: what brings them joy, what feels difficult and what helps them feel safe enough to try.
I created North Star because I kept seeing children and families who needed someone to look at the bigger picture. When a child is finding things hard, I want to understand why, and what the adults and environments around them can do to help. Sometimes that begins with rebuilding trust or confidence. Sometimes a family needs space to talk through their concerns, understand their options or seek the right support through the SEND system.
I want North Star to be a place where families feel listened to and children know they are valued for who they are. From there, we can work together towards the things that matter to them.
